I heard Songwriters speak
I heard Songwriters sing too
But I also heard something else
I heard their voice
I heard their sorrow
I heard their pain
I heard their tears
I heard their joy
I heard their story
I heard them cry
I heard them call out
I heard them shout
I heard them loud and clear.
This is nice… I like it.

Thanks. The event was really beautiful too. Not everyday you can listen to what songwriters have to say.
We need more events like this, surely. We have “Readings” in Bangsar every month, a LitBloggers club, some poetry performances here and there. But we can sure do with more.

And I couldn’t agree with you more. The Auckland Writers and Readers Festival did a lot to promote NZ writers, giving them the space and stage. I’m just wondering how much exposure Malaysian writers are given by city councils and the like. Surely we need to start off by supporting our own.
Hmm I think we have that also here in the Philippines. But its gonna be expensive. There are also some writing workshops here but I find it way way expensive. so I am just saving it up so I could attend to one of those..

Well, I had to pay to go for this event too, but they have half price for students, so it wasn’t too bad for me. Too bad it’s an annual event though, would love to have more of these.
Yeah, here for just like 3 hours of workshop, you need to pay around US$150.. which I think is very expensive..

But aren’t there any other events that don’t require that much money?
Hmm that’s one thing I am not sure of… I think they have one but unfortunately, it will always be full before you can even get to the front

Yes, it is true, unfortunately. The ones that are cheaper are always the once being snatched up the quickest. That’s us being economical!
But if you are saving to go for that workshop, well then good luck with it! I’m sure it will be a good experience. I know the “Songwriters Speak” was.
Yeah, I am really planning to publish my first book. before I hit 30 at least, I should have my first book published.
